Double Mountain Outreach Services

The Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program’s primary emphasis is on meeting the immediate home energy needs of those with low incomes and high relative energy burdens, with a secondary emphasis on reducing the energy needs and cost to such households. The program consists of 2 components:

• Household Crisis - Provides Utility assistance, service and repair of existing heating and cooling units or portable units in an energy related crisis.

• Utility Assistance - Provides energy payments to assist low-income household to reduce their home energy needs.

The Community Services Block Grant Program provides the administrative support for all programs of the agency and provides information and referral, emergency services and case management.  Our agency has a wide network of area service providers and contact persons available in an effort to provide clients with assistance as needs arise.  The case management program is designed to assist clients desiring to become self-sufficient.  Staff provide budget counseling and assist clients to establish short term and long range goals.  This program can provide on-going assistance for the time necessary to achieve self-sufficiency.
